What’s with the new government Gulfstream jets?
It must be nice to be in Congress. You can scream about how executives use private jets to fly to Washington, all while YOUR private government jet is waiting at a private, military airfield to fly you around. Have you read the Defense Appropriation bill that was passed this week? Don’t feel bad f you haven’t — odds are your elected Senator and House member didn’t read it either! What they DID do that you might not know about is slide two new high-end jets into the bill for their personal use. Turns out if you’re in Congress you don’t want to fly around in some 5 year old plane. No, you want a new, fancy jet. And a private airfield, Andrews Air Force Base, to house it. What had been people in service to the public has become a group of self-important blowhards bamboozling the country. Private jets? Global junkets? How about you fix the deficit, be accountable and stop screwing the American people like a five dollar hooker!
