Taylor Swift is one of the best-selling musical artists of her generation with an estimated net worth of over $500 million. The singer frequently gets around onboard a Dassault Falcon 900, one of two Dassault jets in her private collection. Let’s take a look inside Swift’s prized luxury jet below.

Falcon 900 ‘Number 13’

The Dassault Falcon 900 (registration: N898TS) was picked up by the singer for around $40 million in 2011. Swift’s jet is a Falcon 900LX model – the most up-to-date variant of the Falcon 900 – offering a range of 4,750 NM and fitted with blended winglets to improve efficiency.

It previously had the number 13 painted by the nose – unlucky for some, Swift has an affinity for the number 13 for several reasons, including her birthday (December 13th) and her debut album going Gold in 13 weeks.

Inside the jet

The private jet can seat up to 12 passengers in a luxurious cabin offering plentiful space. Passengers will feel at home with a fully-equipped kitchen, along with a bathroom and shower. The jet also features a private bedroom, invaluable for Swift given her hectic tour schedule.

A frequent flyer

Swift was alleged to have made around 170 private jet trips in the space of just seven months in 2022, but a representative refuted these claims by pointing out that Swift rents out her jet when not in use. The story kicked up controversy as it emerged Swift’s other Dassault plane – a Falcon 7X (registration: N621MM) – had emitted over 8,000 tonnes of CO2 over this period, amounting to more than 1000 times the average person’s total annual emissions.

The star previously owned a smaller Falcon 50 jet purchased in 2012 for around $4 million – according to The Richest, she sold the jet in 2020 and gave the proceeds to charity. As for why Swift opts for Falcon aircraft over competitors like the Gulfstream, some have speculated the added security of having three engines is ideal for her frequent transatlantic journeys – the tri-jet is also capable of more direct over-water routing for faster and more convenient journeys overseas.

The Falcon 900LX is notable for its favorable takeoff and landing weight ratio, enabling the jet to make multiple-stop journeys without having to refuel. Dassault adds that the jet’s High-Mac blended winglets offer up to 33% improvements in fuel burn on rival aircraft.
